Http, Https என்ன வித்தியாசம்? 

 

   சாதாரணமாக நம்முடைய உலவியில் ஒரு வலைத்தளத்தைக் காண Uniform Resource Locator என்று சொல்லக்கூடிய URL கொடுத்து நாம் விரும்பும் வலைத்தளத்திற்குச் செல்வோம்.   இந்த URL -ல் உள்ள முதன்மைப் பகுதி http. அல்லது https எனத் தொடங்கும்.   இவ்விரண்டும் ஒன்றேதானா?  அல்லது வெவ்வேறா?  இரண்டிற்குமுள்ள வித்தியாசம்தான் என்ன?  என்பதை இப்பதிவில் தெரிந்துகொள்வோம். 

  முதலில் Http என்றால் என்ன என்பதை தெரிந்துகொள்வோம். 

     http என்பது Hyper text transfer protocol என்பதன் சுருக்கமே http என்பது. 

  இதனுடன் secure என்ற வார்த்தையும் சேர்க்கும்போது Hyper text transfer protocol secure என்றாகிவிடும். இதுவே https என்று குறிப்பிடப்படுகிறது. 

 

    இணையப்பக்கங்களை பயன்படுத்தும்போது http எனத்தொடங்கும் பக்கங்கள் நாம் உள்ளிடும் தகவல்களை மற்றவர்கள் பெற்றுப் பயன்படுத்தக்கூடிய சாத்தியங்கள் இருக்கிறது. 

    https எனத்தொடங்கும் வலைத்தளங்களில் உள்ளிடப்படும் தகவல்களைப் பிறர் அணுக முடியாது.  இது முற்றிலும் பாதுகாப்புடையதாகும்.

இதுதான் இவ்விரண்டிற்குமுள்ள வித்தியாசம்.

  

 **** உதாரணத்திற்கு உங்களுடைய G-mail கணக்கைத் திறக்கும்போது உங்களுடைய அட்ரஸ் பாரில் https://www.gmail.com என்றிருந்தால், அது முற்றிலும் பாதுகாப்பானது. தவிர http://gmail.com எனத்தொடங்கினால் அத்தகைய தளத்திலிருந்து உங்களுடைய தகவல்களை பிறர் அணுக வாய்ப்பிருக்கிறது. 

    சாதாரணமாக வலைத்தளங்களில் நம்முடைய சொந்த தகவல்களை பகிர்வதை முடிந்த வரையில் தவிர்த்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். இணையம் மூலம் வர்த்தகம் செய்வோர், பொருட்களை வாங்குவோர், மற்றும் பல தேவைகளுக்கு தங்களுடைய கிரடிட் கார்ட், டெபிட் கார்ட் (Credit card, debit card) போன்றவற்றைப் பயன்படுத்தும்போது முழு கவனத்துடன் செயல்படவேண்டும். 

   இணையத்தின் வழியாக பணபரிமாற்றம் (Money transfer) செய்யும்போது இதை மனதில் வைத்து செயல்பட வேண்டும். நாம் பண பரிவர்த்தனை செய்யும் தளம் பாதுகாப்பானதுதானா என்று நமக்கு குறிப்பிட்டு அடையாளப்படுத்தக்கூடியவைதான் Hyper text transfer protocol secure ஆகும். 

    இவ்வாறான வணிக தளங்கள், வங்கி தளங்கள் (Business sites, banking sites) தளங்களைப் பயன்படுத்தும்போது ஒன்றுக்கு இருமுறை நன்றாக அட்ரஸ் பாரில் உள்ள URL-ஐ (Address bar) கவனித்து, அதில் https:// என ஆரம்பிக்கிறதா என சரிபார்த்த பின்னரே இன்டர்நெட் பேங்கிங் (Internet Banking), online purchase ஆகியவைகளில் ஈடுபடவேண்டும்.
